Placement gives recommendations for courses in math, 英语 and 英语 as a second 语言(英语). This will determine where you start in the sequence of courses and how long it will take to complete them to get your degree or transfer. 的新法律 California (AB 705) has made transfer level math and 英语 courses accessible in 第一年. 谁是安置?

• Students who designate their educational goals to include transfer, obtain an associate degree, or earn a certificate of achievement.
• Students who register for any 英语 course or for a mathematics course or for any course which has 英语 or math as a prerequisite.

谁可获豁免入读?

• Students who have earned an Associate Degree or higher at an accredited college or 大学. Must provide copy of diploma or unofficial transcript.
• If a student is enrolling in a course for educational/personal enrichment course that does not require 英语 or 数学 as a prerequisite, co-requisite or advisory (recommended 准备).

How do I complete the Placement questionnaire?
All 英语 and math placement will be done through WebAdvisor via a questionnaire. In order to complete this step you will need knowledge of your High School GPA, highest completed High School math course, and intended major of study. 非母语英语课程学生将 be also required to fill out the questionnaire, if an appointment is needed you will be referred to do so on your results page.

The questionnaire will help you determine your 英语, 数学 or 非母语英语课程 placement.

 

我如何接受非母语英语课程课程安排?
If you place into 非母语英语课程, you will be asked to take the 非母语英语课程 guided self-placement. It is your right to take transfer-level 英语 classes or 非母语英语课程 classes if 英语 is not your first or native language. If the 非母语英语课程 guided self-placement is needed, 继续你的 WebAdvisor 帐户来完成它.

 

 

如何回答GPA问题:

You will find it easier to answer this question if you have a copy of your high school 成绩单. If you do not have access to a copy of your high school 成绩单 that is okay, this answer does not have to be specific. 了解GPA的范围 is all that is needed to answer this question.

Did you attend high school in a different country?

How to answer the highest completed 数学 course question:

Highest completed math course is one that you have received a C or higher in. 课程 that you received a non passing grade should not be included. 这可能不是你的 最后一次尝试的数学课程.

How to answer prospective major question:

数学 courses are determined by major groupings. 它可以帮助确定 math is required to meet the requirements in that field. 

 

If you do not see your exact major, that is okay, you can select an area related to ,主要. For example, if you are wanting to major in management you would want 选择业务. The major groupings are broken down like this:

Business (includes Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Economics)
Engineering/数学/Computer Science/Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Pre-Med, )

Social Science/Allied Health (Nursing, Social Work, Administration of Justice, Psychology, 社会学)
艺术 & Humanities (History, 英语, Literature, Languages, Philosophy, Communication, 等)
